At Moving Waves, we believe in more than just teaching dance steps—we’re here to empower young people to express themselves, build confidence, and feel proud of who they are. For over 10 years, our academy has been a creative home for children in North London, helping them grow not just as performers, but as individuals.
In 2023, we were thrilled to expand to a second location at Whittington Park Community Centre, just minutes from Tufnell Park. With six weekly classes running during term time for children aged 4–12, we offer a nurturing and high-quality experience rooted in fun, inclusivity, and self-expression.
One of the most exciting opportunities our students get is to perform in our annual Summer Show in July—a chance to shine on stage, celebrate their progress, and be part of something truly special.
Here’s what your child can gain from joining Moving Waves:
Street Dance – Confidence and Style
Street Dance helps students develop rhythm, coordination, and musicality while expressing their own unique style. Through freestyle and group choreography, they learn teamwork, perseverance, and self-assurance.
Ballet – Discipline Meets Imagination
Our ballet classes foster technical growth while allowing space for creativity. Rather than following a rigid format, we nurture each child’s individuality through imaginative exercises that bring ballet to life. This approach builds focus, posture, and emotional expression.
Break Dance – Strength and Creativity
Break Dance is perfect for energetic movers who love a challenge. It builds physical strength, coordination, and resilience through exciting moves like spins, freezes, and footwork. Students learn to push their limits and celebrate their personal progress.
Musical Theatre – All-Round Confidence
Combining acting, singing, and dance, Musical Theatre boosts self-confidence and helps children express big emotions in a supportive environment. From Broadway numbers to West End hits, students build stage presence and develop a passion for storytelling.
